This year Lufthansa celebrates the 50th anniversary of the resumption of its operations after World War II with a “Retro Design“. Right on time for the anniversary, the A321-100, registration D-AIRX, took off on the 1st of April from Hamburg headed for Munich via Düsseldorf and Frankfurt, in the paint-scheme of 1958. This is the route the first Convair 340 of the newly founded post-war Lufthansa had taken 50 years earlier. The model of this “Retro-Plane“ has already been released in the 1/500 (exclusively for Lufthansa) and 1/200 scales. The aircraft will now be part of the Wings-Collection, scaled down 400-fold.
