The Scandinavian airline SAS holds a considerable stake in the Latvian national airline. They equipped Air Baltic with excess airplanes of their own fleet and took care of important management responsibilities. The 737 with the registration YL-BBF, was built for Aer Lingus in 1990 and has been flying in the new colours of Air Baltic since October 2004.
