The first Lufthansa Cargo MD-11F is released in a new edition with the registration R-ALCA. With at first 13 MD-11s, Lufthansa intended to replace its cargo traffic DC8-73Fs in 1988. The now independent affiliate Lufthansa Cargo will most likely remain loyal to the MD-11 for many years to come.
