Although United Airlines had to substantially decrease its fleet due to an economical crisis it is with more than 400 airplanes still the largest individual member of the Star Alliance, the fleets of the partner companies not even taken into account. Numbering among them is Shuttle America from Fort Wayne, Indiana. They fly feeder services for Delta Airlines as well as United, although for the latter the brand name United Express explus was created especially. Up to 24 examples of the type Embraer 170SE have been operated by United Express since 2004. The original of this model, registered N650RW was one of the last aircraft commissioned in June 2005.
