In December of 1993, Uralskie Avialinii was founded to succeed Aeroflot’s Ural directorate. It has its base at Jekatarinenburg-Koltsovo airport at the eastern end of the Ural mountains, which mark the border between the European and the Asian parts of Russia. The fleet still consists solely of airplanes of Soviet origin, with 15 examples of the Tupolev TU-154 forming the backbone. The original of this mold novelty with the registration RA-8544 is one of the four more modern versions of the TU-154M series, manufactured in 2003.
