In the course of an inevitable reorganization, Delta Airlines has almost completely abandoned regional flight operations to other independent carriers. Among them, Shuttle America, a subsidiary of the revived Republic Airways from Fort Wayne, Indiana. They operate a large Embraer 170 fleet, all ERJ170-100SEs, for Delta as well as for United Airlines, one of which, N855RW registered in July 2005, is the original of this model novelty. Shuttle America currently operates 14 of its Embraer 170s for Delta.
