Armavia, Armenia’s biggest airline with headquarters in Eriwan (Swartnotz), has ordered a model of its Airbus A320, registration EX32008. One year after commencement of flight operations, the Armenian airline commissioned its first A320 in 2002. Two more followed but on May 3, 2006, one of the originally three Airbus A320s crashed into the Black Sea during approach on Sotschi, Russia, another one was destroyed just one day later during a fire at the Brussels airport. Next to the remaining A320, Armavia currently operates two A319-100s, two Jakowlew Jak-42s and one Ilyushin IL-86 in its fleet. The airline uses the Herpa model for duty free and onboard sales.
